IDC Report: Scutech Wins a Double Crown Again in China’s Data Protection Market, Staying at No. 1!

Recently, the internationally renowned market research firm IDC released the China Data Backup and Recovery Systems Market Tracker (H1 2025). The report shows that in the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) rankings, Scutech once again leads both China’s overall Data Protection (DR&P) market and the Purpose-Built Backup Appliance (PBBA) market—firmly holding the No. 1 position among domestic vendors in both categories.

Based on the market data for the overall DR&P market (including appliances and software), Scutech achieved a 12.8% market share, ranking among the industry leaders and once again maintaining the No. 1 spot in the ISV ranking. In the PBBA market, Scutech reached a 13.2% market share, once again topping the ISV ranking as the No. 1 brand. This marks eight consecutive years of being the No. 1 domestic brand, demonstrating strong momentum through “dual No. 1 positions, further consolidated.”

IDC also noted that in H1 2025, China’s data protection market reached US$321.5 million, up 10.1% year over year. Among all segments, the PBBA appliance market stood out most, growing 20.5% year over year and accounting for 76.1% of the overall market.
